Dubai’s tallest buildings

Dubai is one of the 7 emirates of the United Arab Emirates and it contains a perfect blend between history and innovation. It is home to several architectural wonders and feats. The architecture of structures has been dramatically transformed from the traditional styles influenced by culture, desert landscape and lifestyle to the modernist style of exposed glass curtain walls that that stand tall and create an identity for the modern Dubai. Burj Khalifa

It is located in Dubai’s vibrant downtown and is currently the world’s tallest building at 828 metres. It is a mixed-use development that has 163 floors. It was completed in 2009. Its design is inspired by the Spider Lily flower. It holds the record for the tallest-standing structure, the building with the most floors, and the world’s largest elevator installation.

Marina 101

This building is the second largest in Dubai. It is located at the Marina waterfront and is a 101-storey building. Its design features several visual elements and projections that break the monotony of the structure and enhancing its appeal. The building is the tallest residential tower and has surpassed 432 Park Avenue by a very small margin.

Princess Tower

It is the third-tallest building in Dubai and is found nestled among other tall skyscrapers of the Dubai Marina. It offers spectacular views of the Dubai Eye and its coast. It was once the tallest residential tower between 2012 and 2015. The building features a postmodern architectural design which is visible on some sections of the façade. It also features a decorative dome at the crown. The building is 414m tall.

23 Marina

It was completed in the year 2012. The structure has 92 floors and is located between the Dubai Marina and Media City. The building tower is designed in an octagonal shape that features a 6-storey entry hall.

Elite Residence

This is another one of Dubai’s tallest buildings standing at 380m. It is located at the Dubai Marina, overlooking the man-made Palm Jumeirah Island. It was completed in 2012 and held the title of the third-tallest residential building in the world. The 87-floor structure hosts several luxury apartments ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom penthouses. The building is 380m tall.

The Address Boulevard

It is located in the heart of downtown Dubai and stands 368m tall. It is positioned next to the iconic Burj Khalifa and is one of the UAE’s most prestigious hotels. The mixed-use structure has 196 rooms and 532 serviced apartments. It features an art-deco style interior and phenomenal views of the Dubai Fountain and the Burj Khalifa. The vertical fins of the façade create a visual link between the two main façades further enhancing its design.

The Adress Boulevard

Almas Towers

It is located in the Jumeirah Lake Tower Freezone and is also known as the Diamond Tower. It stands at 363m and is a high-rise office development. The building draws inspiration from the unique shape of diamonds. It has a two-storey podium that houses the Diamond Exchange and is quite a sight consisting of eight triangles inspired by the facets of a cut diamond.

Gevora Hotel

It is located on the Sheikh Zayed Road and is 356m tall. It comprises 528 suites and deluxe rooms with amenities such as dining restaurants, a pool deck, leisure facilities, and a health club. It is the tallest hotel building in the world. The glass façade allows the entry of ample light into all floors. The gold-tinted elements of the structure also add to its elegance

JW Mariott Marquis

The 5-star luxury hotel is located on Business Bay on Sheikh Zayed Road. The two towers that make up the hotel have an expressionist architecture style that draws inspiration from the date palm tree, which is a symbol of Arabic culture. The towers are on a 7-storey podium, that contains all the public amenities.

Emirates Office Towers

It was completed in 2000 and is located along Sheikh Zayed Road. The two towers have 54 floors and are connected by a boulevard, a two-storey retail complex. The beautiful landscape and winding pathways on the periphery of the complex helps create a distinctive identity in the rigid urban hardscape. The building stands at 354.6m.

Emirates Office Towers

DamacResidenze

It was formerly known as Damac Heights and Ocean Heights 2. It is an 85 storey elliptical-shaped structure located in the Dubai Marina. Damac Properties’ second supertall project is the world’s fifth-tallest residential building in the world. The elevations of the tower have a unique character that complements the surrounding urban environment. The building is 335m tall.

Rose Rayhaan

The Rose Rayhaan is also known as Rose Tower and is a 72 storey structure on the Sheikh Zayed Road. It was once the world’s tallest hotel from 2009-2012. The two cylindrical forms at the side of the tower fold into another one and merge to flatten at the top to form a peak of intersecting petals. The building is 333m tall.

The Address Fountain Views Tower 2

This 60-storey service apartment complex in Downtown Dubai houses 786 apartments and a new Address hotel. It is one of Dubai’s tallest buildings at 331.4m. It features a unique curving west façade creating a dynamic weave pattern with large windows and balconies that allow light and provide excellent views. The building is 331.4m tall.

The Index

It is located in Dubai International Finance Centre and is an 80-storey structure standing at 328m in height. It was the first to use design principles to combat the surrounding environment.

Al Yakoub Tower

This tower was initially designed as a residential complex and it was inspired by Big Ben. Concerns have been raised regarding the construction of the clock that might lead to its removal on top of the 69-floor hotel. The building is 328m tall and is another addition to our list of Dubai’s tallest buildings.
